Your favorite manga about farting cyborg zombie sharks is becoming a movie!

Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

Oh, this looks fun. Junji Ito — who you may know from such horrific manga tales as The Thing That Drifted Ashore and The Enigma Of Amigara Fault — is having his cyborg land shark tale Gyo transformed into a straight-to-DVD animated film. Watch that four-minute trailer above. It's totally fucking bonkers, like some R-rated SyFy Saturday night movie.

In Gyo, a "death stench" causes sea life to rise from the deep on metal spider legs. Within the mechanics of these land sharks are dead bodies that unleash the stink. And these flatulent fish have an axe to grind with humans.

It's unclear when the English-language release will be — Twitch and ANN say February 15, but I'm not sure if that's just the Japanese release date — but we're psyched regardless.

I can't believe there's an article about a manga which I actually READ!

I love this guy's stuff. So weird, yet drawn with such realistic, thoughtful detail. A disturbing but intriguing combination.

The trailer is interesting, but I kept waiting for the really horrible part of the book- way more horrible than the sharks.
