The Riddick cast and crew have been locked out of their Montreal studio over unpaid bills — and meanwhile Katee Sackhoff has reportedly been offered the role of a Riddick-tailing bounty hunter. So what's really going on with the silver-eyed Furyan?

TMZ is reporting that Riddick's return to the big screen is on ice. According to their report from the owner of the Montreal studio where Riddick is being filmed, the entire production has been locked out because One Race Films, hasn't paid its bills on time. Is this a sign of real money troubles, or just one person's attempt at getting their bills paid, by harnessing the power of a little media attention? There are also reports that many crew members haven't been paid in weeks, and there's unrest on the set. This comes after the star himself, Vin Diesel, took to Facebook a while back, to ask whether he should take a pay cut for this film so it can get made.

Perhaps this is all due to a miscommunication, since meanwhile a gaggle of actors including Battlestar Galactica's Starbuck, have been courted for roles in this picture. According to Bloody Disgusting, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), Andreas Apergis (Being Human), Bokeem Woodbine (Southland), and the WWE wrestler Dave Bautista have all been offered roles in the film.

So let's hope the casting calls mean this film is still going ahead somehow — because we need more Riddick in our life. Maybe someone should start a Kickstarter campaign — would you contribute?

1. Why can;t they get regular funding? There's a big system already set up for that.

2. Do I get anything besides a ticket or am i throwing money in a hole?

3. What's to keep the guys from loading up on the several million needed then just taking off? It's a problem in the regular industry already.
