Who Won't Be Green Lantern?

Illustration for article titled Who iWont/i Be Green Lantern?

Well, we may now know when Warners' Green Lantern adaptation is coming out, but that doesn't mean we have any idea about who's going to be playing the lead. But apparently we know who won't.

According to Latino Review, both Ryan Gosling and Speed Racer's Emile Hirsch have passed on the opportunity to play test pilot-turned-space cop Hal Jordan in Warners' December 2010-released big budget version of the DC Comics character; Terminator: Salvation's Sam Worthington was also being considered for the role, but was apparently unavailable due to commitments to the Clash of The Titans remake he's involved in.

The site reports that producers are going back to Gosling with a new offer, as they're so eager to see him in the role, but we can't help but wonder if he (and even moreso, Hirsch) seems too young, and too nice for the role. Where's a younger Harrison Ford when you need him?

Ryan Gosling as Hal Jordan=FAIL. I hate that casting so much it's ridiculous. I don't care if he's a good actor. He looks NOTHING like Hal Jordan, and therefore, should not be considered for the role.

Like was already stated, he's not square jawed enough to play Hal. They need someone with a stronger looking, more defined jaw.
