Jonathan Langager won a Student Academy Award for Josephine and the Roach. It's a charmer, sort of like Ratatouille with a slightly creepier bent.

Why is it always some random creature that falls in love with a human woman? I've seen this story with a spider, a robot, aliens, every type of mammalian animal (both anthro- and non-anthropomorphic), I can't even list all the examples. Does the story ever go the other way?
