Swiss Army Man opened in limited release last weekend and expands on Friday. And when that happens, we’re no longer going to refer to it as the “farting corpse movie.” It’s so much more than that. It’s a revelation, in a way, and one of the reasons is hinted at in this new clip.
In this clip you get a taste of how the film, directed by a duo calling themselves Daniels, uses John Williams’ iconic score to Jurassic Park. Yes, you read that right.
“If you don’t know Jurassic Park, you don’t know shit.” You think that’ll be quoted by film fans in the future?
If by some chance this is the first you’re hearing about Swiss Army Man, here’s the trailer. It’s about a man (Paul Dano) who is stranded on an island and finds a renewed hope for survival when a dead body (Daniel Radcliffe) washes onto the beach. And that corpse farts a lot. The farting, however, is just the funny hook to a touching, odd story about life, friendship, and love.
To find out more about how Jurassic Park and its music play into the movie, and why Swiss Army Man is so much more than just a movie about a farting corpse, seek it out this weekend. Visit here for theaters.
