Outside of obvious technological changes, I feel like people are more afraid. And that's saying something, because my mom is a big worrier and I have no idea how many times I got the "don't take candy from strangers" lecture. I always had to tell her where I was going and when I planned to be back, so she would know. But we used to roam the neighborhood completely unsupervised, and now people are getting arrested for leaving 9 year olds alone in public parks.
