It’s not difficult to find lovers of Star Wars all over the world, and in fact, some of the best are right here on io9. And when you’ve got the best, you want to give them the best. That’s why we’ve created The Carbonite Freezer—a Facebook group for io9 and Gizmodo’s most passionate Star Wars fans!

Now this isn’t just a place for us to shill out our Star Wars coverage (though of course we’ll be sharing breaking news, features, and other items we think you may like). It’s a place, first and foremost, for you guys to share, talk, discuss, and obsess over Star Wars. We want to be part of the conversation as well—and we’ll be moderating the conversations, creating content, and organizing group discussions—but if you have a burning question, thought, opinion, or just something you saw that you wanted to share, this is the place to do it.

We have a lot of great stuff in the works including group book readings, Star Wars: Rebels discussions, weekly fan art and cosplay, interviews, history lessons, and much much more. But we also combine our access with your enthusiasm. If you want us to interview the guy who played Stormtrooper #64 from A New Hope—we’ll do our damnedest to get him on the line. If a new Star Wars game is coming out and you have questions about what to expect, we’ll ask them. When you and a few friends start have an amazing group cosplay, we want to see it. If you’ve just uncovered an entirely new theory about Star Wars canon, we want to help you share your achievement.

Besides, if you join the group, you’ll be eligible to win one of three sixth-scale Sideshow Collectibles. We’re giving away a Force Awakens Rey, Captain Phasma, and, of course... Han in Carbonite. All you have to do is comment on the first post in the group, and write us a short Star Wars-themed haiku (in the traditional three line, 5-7-5 syllable format). You can enter three times—for a total of three haikus—but that’s it. We’ll pick our favorite three entries, and then send the winners a really cool toy. It’s that simple!

(UPDATE: The contest is now over — check out the winners here)

We really do hope to see you there, and look forward to hanging out with you. Bring a jacket, it’s cool in the freezer.
