= SHADOW KING!!

So yeah, the Yellow-Eyed Demon is actually Amahl Farouk, the Shadow King. If you read our spoilers reveal earlier this week, this didn’t come as a surprise, but it’s a really big deal. Farouk is a real threat to David (in the comics, he put David in a years-long coma), and judging from the final shots from the episode, he’s not going down without a fight.

However, that’s not the only major thing we learned this week. We also know that Charles Xavier is actually David’s father, as revealed through a combination of David’s chalkboard recreation of his origin story and Professor X’s wheelchair in Lenny’s psychotic visions. This isn’t a big reveal for fans of the comics, since it’s a key part of his story, but it’s still freaking cool. Could it mean Professor X makes an appearance in a future episode of Legion? Fingers crossed Patrick Stewart walks back his whole “retirement” thing!

“So what happened on tonight’s Legion?”

Well, it was confirmed that Aubrey Plaza, the fat dude, the angry boy from the book, and David’s dog are all the same person, a man named Amahl Farouk or the Shadow King. David and British David contemplate facts via animated chalkboard drawings of Charles Xavier. Jemaine Clement creates magic glasses that let you see only the real people in an entirely fictional mental hospital. Oh and while he constructs a shield from the word SHIELD set to music, Aubrey Plaza fights people dramatically in the style of a silent movie, including crumpling The Eye into a bloody pulp. Later, Kerry is mad at Cary for leaving her and doesn’t want to re-enter his body.

Any questions?
