Starting next month, visitors to the new 1 World Trade Center will be treated to a fully immersive time-lapse of New York’s ever-changing cityscape, during their elevator trip to the 102nd floor – but you can get a sneak peek of the experience right here, right now.

The 47-second-long ride begins overlooking a pastoral, 16th Century setting. As the lift rises, passengers will be able to see how the city has changed over the years and how it appears today. The screens extend from floor to ceiling to provide the visitors with an immersive, 360° experience.

The One World Observatory opens on May 29. Adult tickets will cost $32 each.

DISCUSSION
That’s really cool. I’ve never been to the city, so can anybody tell me what that church-looking building on the left is? Looks like it’s been there a long time from the timelapse.
