Watch Stephen Strange Become Doctor Strange in the First Trailer

Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

Here it is, the first trailer for Doctor Strange. We see the accident that ends his medical career and hear him get a rousing pep talk from Tilda Swinton’s Ancient One. Life just gets better and better for him, doesn’t it?

We’ll obviously have more information once we have time to comb through every frame, but for now we’ll just say it’s not totally shocking that so much of this trailer comes from the beginning of the movie, since they just finished filming a week and a half ago. Once you know that, the fact that any of the effects were ready for this trailer is even more impressive.

So, wait. Let me get this straight. The Ancient One being a white woman is considering “whitewashing” but Ras al-Gul (who was the son of Sensei, a martial arts master from Hong Kong) being played by an Irishman is all hunky dory? And Baron Mordo, who was white in the comics, is not only black but one of the most talented actors on the planet? Oh, and you wanna go deeper into that rabbit hole? How many non-white actors were in Inception, the Dark Knight Trilogy, and the original Matrix combined (the three movies being referenced the most in this section)? I count, um, 3, and only one of them were part of the main cast.

Sorry, y’all are throwing that “whitewashing” term around so much I felt the need to point out the hypocrisy. The Ancient One is a white girl now? Oh hell no! REVOLT! REVOLT! Now let me jump over to another site and complain about the black Stormtrooper some more. Two sides of the same coin, n’est pas?
