Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

For once, Guardians of the Galaxy news from a social media account that isn’t James Gunn’s. Rob Zombie revealed on his Instagram that he’ll be recording a voiceover for the sequel—but fans may already know that Mr. Zombie voiced the Ravager navigation computer system aboard Yondu’s ship in the first GotG movie, so it’s likely he’ll either be reprising that role, or doing something along similar lines.

Cars 3

Various NASCAR drivers have been cast in the film, including Chase Elliot as Chase Racelott, Ryan Bailey as Ryan “Inside” Laney, Daniel Suarez as Danny Swervez, Bubba Wallace as Bubba Wheelhouse, Darrell Waltrip as Darrel Cartrip, Shannon Spake as Shannon Spokes, Howard Augustine “Humpy” Wheeler, Jr. as Tex Dinoco, Jeff Gordon as Jeff Gorvette, Richard “The King” Petty as Strip “The King” Weathers, Kyle Petty as Cal Weathers, Mike Joy as Mike Joyride, and finally (thank god...), Ray Evernham as Ray Reverham. As you can see, they mostly have goofy car takes on their real names. [Coming Soon]

Logan

Conflicting with earlier reports, James Mangold has confirmed that there is no post-credits scene for the movie. Collider updated its initial report to clarify, now stating that it will have something extra for the fans, “but instead of being after the credits, maybe it’s before the movie has started...”

Uncharted

Joe Carnahan told Coming Soon that he “didn’t spare the rod” in writing an intense, R-rated Uncharted adaptation.

When I wrote Uncharted, I didn’t spare the rod. I wrote it the way the video game is. They swear in the game, they’re kinda foul-mouthed and I kept all that stuff intact and I definitely didn’t write it as a PG-13 movie, I wrote it the way that movie should be written. […] Listen, man, those were the movies we were into, Predator… those were all R-rated films. The Matrix movies were all R-rated. I never understood the metric for, “This will make X-amount more if it were PG-13.” PG-13 in a lot of ways is a cop out, and I think it’s been exposed as such.

“R” seems strange for an adaptation of an Indiana Jones-esque action adventure video game, but hey, I guess Nathan Drake does shoot an awfully large amount of people during his travels.

Power Rangers

It would appear to be just past Morphin’ Time in another new slate of character posters, courtesy of Coming Soon.

Legends of Tomorrow

The Atom gets stranded on the moon in the synopsis for “Moonshot.” I mean, should that be a surprising thing to read about Ray Palmer, though?

The team notices a time aberration during the Apollo 13 mission and believes that the Legion of Doom might be involved. “R” seems strange for an adaptation of an Indiana Jones-esque action adventure video game

Ah, and this is what we all feared after studios accepted the success of Deadpool. Everything’s R now! Because why not!

Yes, I have played Uncharted (haven’t finished four yet, though). Sure, the gameplay features gratuitous shootouts, but that’s not the essence of the series that should be captured in the movie version. I’m thinking of the Uncharted film as a much less campy version of the Mummy series.

Also, comparing Uncharted to Predator and The Matrix does not make me confident in this project. Sigh.
