Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

We're excited to bring you the exclusive first look at the book trailer for Brandon Sanderson's new superhero novel, Steelheart. Except that Sanderson's superpowered bruisers aren't all that heroic — power has corrupted them, and it's up to ordinary humans to take them down.

If the dramatic 30-second teaser doesn't win you over, with its glimpses of superpowered carnage, then here's the book's official synopsis, focusing on the corrupt superpowers and their quest for dominance:

Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics... nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart—the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning—and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He's seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.

And you can read the book's prologue over at the AV Club.

Sanderson is a wonderful writer. Although this is a personal opinion, I consider him one of the best fantasy writers alive, if not the best (I repeat, it's my opinion). I have enjoyed lately few novels as much as I enjoyed the first book of his Mistborn trilogy, and Elantris is flawless.
