The King Kong reboot that took everyone by surprise at this year's Comic-Con just got a whole lot crazier—and closer to getting made. Legendary Pictures has announced the director of Skull Island and its brand new star, Tom Hiddleston. This is 100% giving the people what they want.
According to a press release, Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer and sometimes director of the really great TV series You're the Worst) will direct this reboot. Max Borenstein of Godzilla has penned the script, which will allegedly take place entirely on Skull Island (home of King Kong). And Tom Hiddleston will play the lead. Who will that be? We have no idea. However, we do now have a release date: November 4, 2016.
