There's a ton of promising new books this week. The X-Men file for divorce, Dollhouse returns with the new adventures of Alan Tudyk, and Jeff Smith of Bone releases a new issue of his awesome science fiction comic RASL.

First Issues

A series to watch this week is Nightly News author Jonathan Hickman's new creator-owned Image comic Red Wing, which promises time-traveling fighter pilots. Dark Horse has a trio of new releases this week. There's BPRD: Hell On Earth - Monsters (which focuses on the pyrokinetic Liz Sherman), Dollhouse: Epitaphs (an Alpha-centric story penned by series writers Andrew Chambliss, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Jed Whedon), and Star Wars: Invasion - Revelations. Life of Agony singer Alan Robert also pens the horror comic Crawl To Me for IDW.

In the Marvel camp, Captain America kicks off with a new first issue, and Ghost Rider gives an ongoing series another whirl. Ultimate Fallout deals with a big death in the Ultimate Universe, and Jason Aaron's X-Men: Schism sees the X-Men dealing with their own mini-civil war, and as seen in this preview, Cyclops debates the existence of Sentinels with (a Marvel universe analogue of) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. But does Kim Jong-il have a feud with Dazzler?

Other Releases

In the rare treat column, there's a new issue of Jeff Smith's dimension-hopping series RASL. Just seeing it on the stands somewhat tempers the rassum-frassum fact that we only have four more issues before this series wraps up.

Other titles that may be on your pull list include Hellboy: The Fury, FF, Journey Into Mystery, Gladstone's School For World Conquerors, Flashpoint: Frankenstein And The Creatures Of The Unknown, Unwritten, American Vampire: Survival of the Fittest, and Punisher MAX.

Graphic Novels

The last Jack Of Fables trade paperback is out, as is a reprint of Brian Michael Bendis' Sam and Twitch tales for Image Comics. Two particularly noteworthy books are the trade paperback editions of Matt Fraction's espionage fever dream Casanova: Gula and the second collected volume Ed Brubaker's sordid supervillain-witness-protection comic Incognito: Bad Influences.

As usual, here's the list of everything being released to comic stores tomorrow, and you can find your nearest comic retailer here. Rock over Suicide Slum, rock on Blazing World! Pop Tate's — milkshakes keep you immortal!
