This Green Hornet fast food tie-in is deeply disturbing

I keep spotting this Green Hornet-themed ad for fast-food chain Carl's Jr. when I'm fast-forwarding through commercials, and thinking it's a new trailer for the Michel Gondry-directed superhero romp. And then I see the fast-foody horribleness, and my heart sinks.

Seriously, how desperate are the makers of Hornet to make back their budget by any means necessary? These spots may generate some quick revenue, but in terms of selling casual moviegoers on the concept of "Seth Rogen as a Batman knock-off with a cool car"... I just don't know. But at least it's a reminder that Carl's Jr. is still in business. So that's something, I guess.

It's actually starting to do damage. Fast food joints are terrible positioning for this kind of movie.

It's almost as bad as the 7-11 cash-ins. You know in the same week those twits advertised their special Terminator cups/Slurpees AND their Wolverine cups/Slurpees? They barely waited for one to get in theatres before advertising the other. It was lame, and it didn't help that so too were the movies.
