Italian designers Ninja1 and Mach505 were so taken with a certain snake-haired gorgon that they created an anamorphic painting of the monster. Watch Medusa's herpetological hairdo come together only at a particular vantage point.

Explain its creators:

Remember how Perseus had to look at the Gorgon Medusa's image reflected in the mirroring shield given to him by Athena to avoid being turned into stone? Well, also our Medusa can be seen only from a certain viewpoint. Have a look for yourself, you'll be petrified.

Fantastic stuff — only Ray Harryhausen could do it better.

So is there an easy way to create an image like this?

Projecting the image wouldn't work because of the variable depth. Perhaps one could set up a camera with transparency in front of it. Then if you can view the output of the camera remotely, one could walk around and sketch an outline on the surfaces.
