In 1996, the Super Bowl commercial for Independence Day blew up the White House and sparked the imaginations of film fans everywhere. 20 years later with the sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence, another Super Bowl commercial was inevitable. And here it is.
While this spot probably won’t be as buzzy as the one twenty years ago, it’s still a nice piece of historic symmetry. Especially with Jeff Goldblum’s line “What goes up, must come down.”
Co-written and directed by Roland Emmerich, Independence Day: Resurgence opens June 24. Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox and Brent Spiner return alongside new cast members Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward, Joey King and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

DISCUSSION
I have an impossibly hard time accepting that an alien race who felt it neccessary to take out New York and Washington DC would’ve left London standing.
Also, that even if left standing....2016 ID4 London would look exactly like 2016 real London.
