It’s a DC cinematic universe blowout, as Patty Jenkins addresses Amazon diversity in Wonder Woman, and Ben Affleck teases his rumored involvement with the Batman solo movie. Plus, a Sliders reboot may be happening, tons of pictures from Star Wars Rebels, and behind the scenes on the Flash/Supergirl crossover. Spoilers Now!
Deborah and Zack Snyder promise that the film will have a lighter tone than Batman v Superman—mainly because of the presence of the Flash:
Deborah Snyder: Justice League’ is a little bit lighter, ‘cause some of these characters — you know, Flash tends to be a little bit more comedic, I’d say.
Zack Snyder: One of the things that lightens it is having Flash or having characters that are more optimistic. [Batman v Superman] is particular to characters who are having a crisis of conscience, which sort of draws them together.
Meanwhile, Zack Snyder tells Yahoo that the film will be a little like The Seven Samurai:
I’m getting ready to start ‘Justice League’ on the 11th of April, so in like two weeks we start shooting, and it’s an intense, awesome, and gigantic undertaking because Bruce [Wayne] is having to go out and sort of ‘Seven Samurai’ the Justice League together, which is fun.
It’s slightly monumental, and at the same time they’re starting to grapple with this coming threat.
Gal Gadot discusses how the Diana of the solo movie is different to the one that appears in Batman v Superman:
The Wonder Woman you’re going to see in Batman v Superman is a very different Wonder Woman that you will see in the standalone movie. The Wonder Woman that you see in Batman v Superman is a woman who has been around, and she’s very experienced. She understands a lot about man. Whereas in the standalone movie we are telling the grown-up story. Diana becoming Wonder Woman, and this was a story that was never told before. When she starts this journey, she’s very pure. She’s more naive, she’s this young idealist who does not really understand the complexities of life and the complexities of men.
After yesterday’s reveal of how the Amazons will appear in the movie, director Patty Jenkins took to Twitter to tell fans the warrior race will feature a diverse roster of ethnicities:
Although he’s been loathe to admit his doing more than just acting in the solo Batman movie, Ben Affleck has told DC Access he is indeed working with Geoff Johns on something:
Geoff Johns is a brilliant guy. I consider him to be the most valued resource on all things comic book, and every time I like something in the comic I always mention it, he’s like ‘oh yeah I wrote that’. Now I just think he’s bullshitting me, and he says he wrote everything. You know he and I are working together on something and I really am excited about it, and I love him, he’s the best.
