The Next Resident Evil CG Movie Offers a Ballet of Blood

Sony Pictures

There’s a new Resident Evil movie coming to theaters, a CG affair that comes directly from the games. If this exclusive clip is any indication, Resident Evil: Vendetta is going to be an over-the-top orgy of zombicide.

Vendetta has nothing to do with the Milla Jovovich-led franchise that’s been around for years. It’s the third CG movie to spin off directly from the games and happens between Resident Evil 6 and 7. The clip above shows Chris and Leon performing what looks like gun shiatsu as they go to work on a wave of the undead. It’s the kind of sequence that typifies the bombastic stylization common to Resident Evil games. The folks pictured in the images below are some of the bad guys Chris, Leon and Rebecca will be facing off against.

Due out internationally on May 27, 2017, with a limited North American theatrical release on June 19, Vendetta features Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Rebecca Chambers as they try to stop a madman trying to spark a zombie outbreak in New York City.
