The Latest Trailer for The Conjuring 2 Is Creeping Us Out

Today at WonderCon, Warner Brothers dropped a new trailer for The Conjuring 2, and it looks genuinely creepy.

The film picks up again with paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warren, who were featured in 2013's The Conjuring. This time, they head to Enfield, England, to investigate poltergeist activity that’s been haunting a single mother and her four children, inspired by the real case of the Enfield Poltergeist.

We visited the set of this film last fall, where the crew talked about how this film would be a bit different from its predecessor, which was a major box office success.

The Conjuring 2 will be released in theaters on June 10th.

Paranormal investigators are inherently ridiculous, and it’s weird to see the topic treated with such gravitas. I want to see a poltergeist chasing Vera Farmiga around while brandishing Patrick Wilson’s helpless body as a cudgel.

Basically, these films would be so much more satisfying if they were directed by Quentin Tarantino. (It’s the same reason National Treasure is a much better film than the Da Vinci Code — it knows it’s a bunch of fluffy nonsense, and has fun with it.)
