Back in 2014, it was reported that a reboot of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles was on the way to the big screen. We’ve heard nothing about it since ... until now.

When last we heard about this project, Universal and Imagine Entertainment had engaged Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, and Bobby Cohen to spearhead a new set of Vampire Chronicle movies. The rights to every one of Rice’s popular novels—existing and upcoming—would be in the hands of the studio.

Back in 2014, The Wrap also reported that Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) was in talks to work on the reboot—something that Imagine Entertainment emphatically denied at the time.

Now, of course, that’s all been proven true. Boone posted a photo of his finished script to Instagram last week:

The image appears to be proof that Boone and Jill Killington have finished a script for the reboot, which shows actual forward motion for this project. Whether or not that sounds like a good idea is up to you.

[Coming Soon]

Reboot? Cool. I liked the original (DONT JUDGE ME) and the source material, so I’d love to see a fresh adaptation.

Combining the first two books? Someone needs to be drug out into the street and shot.
