The Handmaid’s Tale is only in its second week, with four episodes released so far, but it looks like we’re not leaving Gilead anytime soon. Hulu announced the show has been renewed for a second season.

The show debuted with much critical praise and fanfare, becoming the biggest series debut Hulu has ever had, original programming or acquired. There’s no word whether the second season will have the same number of episodes, or which actors will return— after all, we still don’t know whether all of them make it through the season alive.

Elisabeth Moss, Alexis Bledel, and Samira Wiley spoke during The Handmaid’s Tale presentation at Hulu Upfront 2017 to thank everyone for their support and say how proud they are of what the series has accomplished. The second season of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to arrive in 2018.

I haven’t gotten to watch the show yet, but are they adapting the book in a single season and spinning off to something new or trying to stretch the book’s plot out over multiple seasons?
