Spider-Man: Far From Home opens July 2, but press screenings have started—and, can you believe it? The early word is very positive. We joke because the early word on these movies is almost always very, very positive.

As we all know by now, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was snapped from existence for five years, then reappeared as part of Endgame. Far From Home sees Peter going on a summer vacation to Europe with his classmates. However, while there, he’s recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and the mysterious Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) to help defeat some apocalyptic elemental monsters.

Let’s see what film critics who’ve seen the film have to say about the sequel to Homecoming.

Yeah, that’s pretty positive, though it’s possible that sentiment will cool at least a little bit when full reviews are released next week. Still, being among one of the people above, I will say that if you like Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, or the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general, odds are you are going to like Far From Home. It’s a ton of fun.

Do they at all address that practically every one of the major high school characters from the first Holland Spider-Man movie just happened to be conveniently snapped out of existence along with Peter or do they just gloss over the fact that everyone was held back for 5 years and looks exactly the same? I’m rather curious as to how that issue is played out.
