Is this the most energy-efficient office building in the world? Mixing solar and wind technologies, the building Town Town Erdberg manages to generate more energy than it uses, a fact that's won its designers the 2010 MIPIM sustainability award.

The building was designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au, an Austrian design firm that describe the building as "not a passive house, but an active house," the building not only manages to make better use of its internal space (86% of floor space is usable, as opposed to 82% average in other buildings, they claim), but also its external, using photovoltaic lamination on its facade along with a wind turbine on top of the tower to generate more than enough energy for its inhabitants.
