Back to the Future: The Musical is going to open on London's West End in 2015. There had better be a "Great Scott" tap dancing number, or we will leave.

The film's original screenwriters, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, have been threatening to make a Back to the Future musical for years. And now it's happening. The show will premiere in London's West End in 2015. The original movie makers have teamed up with Brit director Jamie Lloyd to write the book. They plan on incorporating a lot of the original music in the the musical, which is actually pretty great because Huey Lewis is a god among men. And ZZ Top is just the greatest, so there's that. Maybe this won't be so bad after all? LOL, probably not.

I'll be intrigued to see how they do a stage version of getting the DeLorean up to 88mph. Doc Brown's ride down the wire before the lightning should be interesting, too...wonder if he'll sing as he's trying to re-connect the wires? Wouldn't be surprised if they put the clock tower at the rear of the audience, with Doc gliding on the wire back to the stage. This could be interesting.
