Zombies invade Tony Stark’s birthday party— yes, it sounds just as weird now as it did back in 2015. But if you’re curious what an undead Thor looks like, or how a god could even become the undead (sure it’s been in the comics, but I still don’t get it), then luck has infected you. The Japanese manga Avengers: Zombies Assemble is finally being released in America with an English translation.

Avengers: Zombies Assemble, written and illustrated by Yusaku Komiyama (with the English adaptation by Jim Zub) was originally a Japanese exclusive from Mangabox. In the first issue, the Marvel Cinematic Universe-style Avengers plan a surprise party for Tony Stark, only to be interrupted by some uninvited guests... in the form of flesh-eating zombies. Then, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are forced to drive back the horde, and not all of them come out unscathed. I’m looking at you, Thor.

The first issue of Avengers: Zombies Assemble arrives May 10, with the second issue coming out later in May and Issue #0 being released sometime in July. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the artwork, and one of the variant covers for the US release.
