In Andrée Wallin’s debut short film State Zero, four soldiers are deployed to a post-apocalyptic Sweden on a routine mission. Once they’re on the ground, however, everything goes wrong.
There’s really some stunning visuals here, and Wallin has a good eye for setting up some of his framing shots. There’s no surprise there: he’s worked as a concept artist and producer on films such as Oblivion, Godzilla, and video games such as Wastelands 2. I got a real District 9 vibe from elements of this, and it looks like there’s going to be more coming in the future.
