Supreme court judges in the UK have ruled that Scientology is a "place of meeting for religious worship." Louisa Hodkin launched a suit after officials refused to register a Scientology chapel as a place for marriage. The judges said religions don't require a God — potentially paving the way for Jedi marriages.
As much as I hate Scientology... what really is the difference between a cult or a religion? Why do we commonly refers to Catholicism or Protestantism as a religion, but Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult?Apart from how recent it is and how relatively small it is, what really makes Scientology less of a religion than Hinduism, Bhuddism, Christianism, Islam, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Voodoo, etc?
I think cult is just a word that means "religion I don't like". Because when you really think about - what separates Religion from Cult?
