This week in the world of cartoons, Bender is robo-jacked on Futurama, Stan Lee voices a janitor on Ultimate Spider-Man, and we are treated to the spectacular Gravity Falls season finale.

TMNT is off this week, As always - minor spoilers ahead!

Beware the Batman – "Safe"

The League of Assassins debut on BtB this week. The cadre breaks up a Wayne Corporation press conference to steal the Ion Cortex, a possible answer to the world's energy problems.

Katana (who has a connection to the League of Assassins) and Alfred get a large piece of the action in this episode.

Futurama – "Assie Come Home"

Bender has all his robo-parts stolen while on a planet run by alien gang members (Blips vs. Cruds!), with Fry and Leela traveling to find his robotic ass.

Adventure Time – "Sky Witch"

Marceline and Princess Bubblegum team up this week to find Maja the Sky Witch. Can death-mongering and science co-exist?

Regular Show – "Sleep Fighter"

Some people sleep walk, other people (well, Muscle Man) break into bedrooms and beat the crap out of their friends while they slumber. Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson tie Muscle Man to a bed and video tape his sleep patterns to put an end to Muscle Man's violent night-time activity.

Gravity Falls – "Gideon Rises"

The season finale of Gravity Falls follows the exploits of Mabel, Dipper, and their Grunkle Stan as they are kicked out of the Mystery Shack by its new owner, Lil' Gideon.

I like Gideon way more than I should.

Avengers Assemble – "Hyperion"

Squadron Supreme founder and current member of Jonathan Hickman's Avengers, Hyperion, is showcased in this episode. Hyperion started out as Marvel's analogue for Superman, but the character has evolved considerably in the past decade.

Ultimate Spider-Man – "Stan By Me"

Spider-Man teams up with his friends Mary Jane and Harry Osborn on a journey through the sewers of NYC to find the Lizard. The trio are joined by their high school janitor, Stan, voiced by Stan Lee.

This episode, originally scheduled to air at the end of June, is shown of out order, but there should not be any continuity problems.

Honestly, I don't get the hate for Ultimate Spider-Man. It's fun enough that I can enjoy watching it with my son, and kid-friendly enough that it's actually turning kids onto the Marvel universe. What's the big deal?
