The iconic women of the DC Universe have seldom looked bolder or more beautiful than they do in these pin-up illustrations by Ant Lucia, which have been making the rounds online recently. We've featured a ton of collectibles from QMx before, including Art Nouveau Firefly prints, but these are still pretty special. According to QMx, "Each DC Comics Bombshell will be rendered on a museum quality 18"x24" art print and will be priced at $14.95." You can preorder the first five prints (Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Stargirl and Mera) today, and another five will be available for preorder in about a month.

Check out details and links to preorder at QMx's DC Comics Page.

DISCUSSION

Women in comics are ridiculously hypersexualized - absurd costumes, physically-awkward (if not impossible) poses to show off their assets (pun intended).

While the art in these posters is very nice and very reminiscent of the decade ... all it's really doing is reinforcing the stereotype that a female superhero is nothing more than a pin-up.
