Star Trek

John Cho's Reddit AMA contained just a few tidbits on the next Star Trek, mostly just that he's in it and he trusts Roberto Orci:

I'm absolutely confident in Bob. No one knows these characters better than Bob. And no one knows the Star Trek universe better than Bob. I think he's going to blow people away.

... I'm guessing I'm in it? I just went in for a costume fitting.

X-Files/Ghostbusters

In her Reddit AMA, Gillian Anderson had this cryptic thing to say about another X-Files movie:

Uh....uh... uh...

Sorta kinda. Keep your ears to the ground.

She's also beginning her campaign to join Paul Feig's Ghostbusters:

OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online. Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!

Timeless

As is now the norm, former Pixar artist Armand Baltazar's debut three-book children's series Timeless was announced less than a week ago, and it's already sold its movie rights to Fox. Carlos Saldanha (Rio, Ice Age) is attached to direct a live-action/CG adaptation. Ridley Scott'll be one of the producers. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Doctor Strange

I'm putting in a personal plea for an announcement soon. These rumors have got to stop. So welcome Ewan McGregor to the Doctor Strange casting list! The story is that he's been doing research into the role and a source says Marvel's "looking at him." Take that for whatever it's worth, which is probably almost nothing. [Badass Digest]

Independence Day 2

Fox has moved the release date to June 24, 2016, which means it's now competing directly with the Universal Mummy reboot. Also, that's further away from July 4 than the original date of July 1, 2016. [Coming Soon]

The Flash

Candice Patton said that Iris will interact with the Flash's villains and other metahumans because of her proximity to Barry, her blog on the phenomena, and that she "kind of puts herself in situations where she would interact with" them. She also talked about an upcoming episode which will show how Iris isn't a damsel in distress character:

[T]here's a great episode that will come up, and it will explore that and how Iris deals with saving herself, and I'm really glad that the writers explored that, that there's an opportunity for viewers to see Iris take the reins herself and figure out how to save herself when no one is around to save her, or no one can actually come to her aid. I think it's really important to not make her constantly a damsel in distress, because innately, she's just not. Even if you read the comic books, Iris is a very strong, kind of sassy girl, so it doesn't even make sense to portray her as a damsel in distress.

Jesse L. Martin says that, as of now, Joe trusts Eddie Thawn, doesn't trust/is jealous of Harrison Wells, and apologetic towards Barry's father. And Martin says there's not a lot of him in the Flash/Arrow crossover:

Joe doesn't have much of a role in the crossover, I must say. It's more about Barry and the two kids at S.T.A.R. Labs, Cisco and Caitlin. They do a lot more work in that case than Joe does.

TVLINE | Is there someone from Arrow you hope to work with then?

Sure. I absolutely love Stephen [Amell] and would have loved to get to do more. But we have plenty of time.

The Walking Dead

Andrew J. West responded to the point that there were scenes of Gareth in the trailer that weren't in the premiere, hinting that we'd see him again:

Everything would seem to point to Gareth maybe making another appearance somewhere down the line. It certainly would appear that way, yes. You know, we see certain things in the trailer and yeah, you know, I mean I would hope Gareth isn't done that quickly.

American Horror Story

Finn Wittrock said of his character that "Part of the message of the show is that Dandy is the biggest freak, although he looks the most normal." He also outlined a fair amount of his upcoming story and how it ties in to Twisty the Clown:

Well, [Dandy's mother] gets this clown (Twisty) that she finds on the street to basically be his companion. He becomes very enamored by the clown and becomes his acolyte. The clown basically becomes his role model for life. He wants to be him. And he might succeed to a degree.

We'll learn more about Twisty in episode 4, said Wittrock:

He's such a good actor, John Carroll Lynch. He can do anything, and you'll find in Episode 4 that there is a human side to the clown. We will learn his backstory, and we'll actually see a sort of humanity in him. That won't cease to make him the scariest character on television, but I think you'll understand how he got that way.

Agents of SHIELD/Agent Carter

According to Clark Gregg, last night's episode had some of the lighter moments we'll see this season:

There's episodes that we do that are really — especially this season — that are really dark and terrifying, and there's ones that have elements of that but also, you know, that's what I love about Marvel. They don't shy away from — there's got to be some moments that are fun and funny and sexy. There's this terrific relationship between Coulson and his oldest friend, in a way, certainly at S.H.I.E.L.D., in Agent May, played so wonderfully by Ming-Na Wen.

Jeph Loeb also answered how the two Marvel shows are connected:

I can't reveal all of it, and there's the magical "it's all connected," but there was something really fun about being able to sit down at the beginning of the season and say, "Okay, because of what happened last season, Coulson has been tasked with this enormous job of rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. What is it, who is it, what are the responsibilities and — most importantly — why is it?" Those are the things that weigh on his character and weigh on the stories that we're telling. To then be able to go back to 1946 and see Peggy Carter deal with that same issue, which is, should there be — they don't even have a name for it yet — should there be an organization like this? To see that echo back and forth is tremendously fun and makes "Carter" so relevant now even though it's a period piece. We don't want anyone to feel like, "Well, I don't know what the world was like back in 1946?" You don't have to care, just come on aboard and watch ["Agent Carter" lead] Hayley Atwell try to figure out the same things that Coulson is trying to figure out in present day — but the world is a different place. So that kind of action, adventure and fun will feel very much like what we refer to as 'The Mothership,' but on its own has its own kind of flavor. That's very much like the movies. Our movies, "Captain America" and "Thor" and "Iron Man," are all very different films and yet, when you watch them together, it all feels like it's of a piece. That's the key to what we're trying to do.
