Scenes from The Wizard of Oz set in China

L. Frank Baum set his The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in Kansas, but his tale of an unhappy orphan girl growing up on a farm could start out anywhere. These illustrations by Billy Nunez transport Baum's original story to China, and gives Dorothy and her companions a somewhat altered look.

Nunez is currently a BFA student at the Pratt Institute. If you head over to his site (warning, some NSFW images), you can see his entire illustrated outline of The Wizard of Oz in China. Sadly, the only time we get to see the Wicked Witch of the West, she's already melting.
