Burger is getting blasted into space, thanks to executive producers James Parriott (Grey's Anatomy) and Michael Edelstein (Desperate Housewives). Ron Livingston's new starring role in the space drama titled Defying Gravity was wrapped up in one terrifying sentence from Parriott: "Throw in a little bit of Grey's and Lost, and you have a pretty good international TV show." Seriously? All Gray's jokes aside, this 13-episode drama is a collaborative venture among several international media companies. Fox TV has combined forces with Canada's CTW, Fox Studios Germany's ProSieben and the BBC. This worldly undertaking follows the story of eight international astronauts and their six-year mission into the great unknown universe. According to the Hollywood Reporter German actress Florentine Lahme has also joined the crew on Defying Gravity, but the rest of the cast is still unknown. The first episode will begin production on January 19th, 2009. But besides Parriott's work on Grey's Anatomy, he also worked on the original Bionic Woman and The Incredible Hulk so I'm expecting some fun science fiction mixed in with that big serving of relationship drama. I am cautiously interested in this. I love the idea of a long term exploration mission into outer space. And I like it when people work together to accomplish things.
