Ray Bradbury left his personal book collection, and some other personal effects, to the Waukegan Public Library, which is planning a permanent Ray Bradbury exhibit. Road trip?
Waukegan actually would be a pretty decent road trip. A suburb of Chicago (there's commuter train service to within a half mile of the library), it's an economically and racially diverse town - represented by Green Town in Bradbury's writing. There's not a ton to do there, but it is the kind of place that makes you wonder why we can't have more places like that (and is again, near Chicago and Milwaukee, where there's more to do/stay).
