Aaron Sorkin just revealed that he has “meetings” coming up with both Marvel and DC—despite the fact that he’s never read a comic book. He’d like someone to find a character that he’d just love. Let’s help him out, shall we?
The exact quote the writer and producer (The Social Network, Moneyball, The West Wing, The Newsroom) gave Comic Book.com was:
I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel. I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m gonna wanna go back and start reading from the first issue on.
First of all—lol at going back and reading everything for a character from the first issue. Hope this is for one of the movies far in the future, or a very new character.
I hate to do this—given that She-Hulk is great and Sorkin’s writing of female characters can be very variable—but a legal movie with Jennifer Walters might be great fit. Lots of walking and talking in that!
But you should chime in a give us your ideas in the comments.
