Good news for Terminator fans! Paramount is sniffing around the franchise rights, which means the long-whispered-about script Arnold Schwarzenegger has been bragging about could actually get made, with real studio money.

The Wrap is reporting that Paramount is very close to finishing closing a deal on this acquisition. No word if the studio plans on using the script form Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, but hey, it can't be worse than Salvation.

If purchased, Terminator would join Paramount's current collection of successful franchises including G.I. Joe, Transformers, Star Trek and Mission Impossible. We like that blend.
