Merry Christmas, movie house! Merry Christmas, Emporium! Merry Christmas, you wonderful old Paramount Studio!

Earlier this week two independent producers announced that they were trying to make a sequel to It's A Wonderful Life, to which the internet said NO, NO, NO. But now the mighty Paramount has stepped in to play the hero stating, "LOL you need the rights dummies." The studio released a statement to Variety saying:

No project relating to 'It's A Wonderful Life' can proceed without a license from Paramount. To date, these individuals have not obtained any of the necessary rights, and we would take all appropriate steps to protect those rights.

It's a Christmas Miracle! Meanwhile somewhere, someone is pitching an all CG remake of the Sting.
