Old U.S. Army newsreel documents the effects of psychoactive chemicals. On cats.

Over the course of the 1960s, the U.S. Army released a series of videos (at least ten, maybe more) featuring ongoing military R&D projects. The progress reports mostly highlighted advances relating to military equipment — missile operations systems, tanks, personnel carriers, things like that. But at the end of the second progress report, the producers at the Army Pictorial Center managed to squeeze in the footage you see up top.


There's just something about the overly exuberant narrating style of the 1960s that really cranks the absurdity of this video up to eleven.
