Of Course AMC's Created an Aftershow for Preacher

At this point, half of AMC’s programming consists of aftershows for the other half. The most shocking thing about this news it that it took this long to announce that Preacher was getting one.

It’s going to be called Talking Preacher, because The Talking Dead was vaguely pun-shaped and now the network’s stuck calling all of these shows “Talking X,” even when that makes no sense whatsoever.

And I know this is going to come as a giant shock, but Chris Hardwick will be hosting. He’s the only thing more constant than the “Talking X” name.

You won’t even “get” to watch Talking Preacher after the premiere on May 22. The first episode of the aftershow is airing on May 29—not after a new episode, but after an encore of the premiere. Meaning the schedule is two weeks of the premiere episode and then a new episode on June 5. This all sounds great.

Well, you know what they say: after the show...is the aftershow.

But I can’t believe they didn’t name the show Preaching to the Choir. That would have been so much better.
