Obama: "The debate [over climate change] is settled"

"The shift to a cleaner energy economy won't happen overnight, and it will require tough choices along the way," said President Obama last night in his State of the Union Address."But the debate is settled," he added emphatically. "Climate change is a fact."

"When our children's children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did," Obama said, echoing the judgment of thousands upon thousands of researchers, who together comprise a greater than 99% consensus within the scientific community that anthropogenic global warming and its repercussions are very real.
