Well, this is good, if somewhat baffling news: just days after Nickelodeon released The Legend of Korra clip show episode (thanks to Nickelodeon slashing the show's budget mid-season), the network has announced that Book 4 of The Legend of Korra will be airing on TV starting this week. Uh, yay, I guess?

Honestly, we have no idea where the Nickelodeon executives' heads are at when it comes to The Legend of Korra. First, this summer, they pulled the critically acclaimed third season off the air and announced that the episodes would be premiering exclusively on Nick.com—right before the Korra panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Then they premiered Book 4, the show's final season, mere weeks after Book 3 ended. And Friday, we woke up to a blog post from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Korra co-creator Bryan Konietzko, who explained that, during Book 4's production, Nickelodeon cut the show's budget to the tune of an entire episode, forcing the producers to decide between letting the production crew go early or recycling their animation to make a clip show. (Miraculously, they did a rather decent job of it.)

Anyway, now Nick has announced through Facebook that, starting this Friday, November 28th, Book 4 of The Legend of Korra will begin to air on Fridays at 9 PM on Nicktoons (an earlier version of this post erroneously said new episodes would premiere on Nickelodeon), which was previously exclusively on Nick.com. There are only a few episodes left in the series, but I suppose better they give the show this support late than never.

But seriously, Nickelodeon, what has been going through your heads?
