Newest Footage Shows the Runaways Coming into Their Powers and Kicking Their Parents' Asses

The most frustrating thing about the first episode of Hulu’s new Runaways series is that it comes so close to letting you see the kids fully manifest their epic powers for the first time before quickly snatching the moments away as if to say “nuh-uh, you’ve got to come back if you want that.”

In the newest trailer for the show, though, we can finally see what just all the villainous Pride parents are going to be up against and suffice to say that the titular Runaways are bringing the big guns. Though we’ve seen Molly (Allegra Acosta) summon her super strength and caught glimpses of Old Lace before, the new footage shows Karolina (Virginia Gardner) shifting into her Majesdanian form, Chase (Gregg Sulkin) using his fistigons to do some serious damage, and Nico (Lyrica Okano) summoning the Staff of One for the first time.

Unfortunately, Alex (Rhenzy Feliz) still doesn’t get anything particularly nifty to do just yet (that’s what happens when you don’t actually have superpowers) but I’m sure there’ll be plenty of chances to hear him gripe about being left out when Runaways premieres on Hulu November 21.

I like the look of the Fistigons, and Karolina looks great. I really hope they don’t change Karolina’s sexuality here though. Chase and Gert falling for each other was such a great thing, and changing that just wouldn’t ring true to the characters.
