We've got a crop of amazing new images from Man of Steel — plus find out about the one massive detail director Zack Snyder stripped from Superman.

In the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly, Snyder revealed his first big chance, "I'll be honest with you, there's no Kryptonite in the movie." No ultimate weakness for our superhero? Could be interesting. We're not surprised as this movie was hoping to channel a more realistic comic book vibe, and necklaces of kryptonite are kind of ridiculous.

But that's not the only difference, Yahoo Movies points out that in Snyder's movie Kal-El is a "special child" and his birth is "cause for alarm amongst the Kryptonians." What the what? So is this baby like the one true baby of Krypton? Who knows? Until we find more details, you'll just have to be content with this new batch of images also taken from the EW issue.

Outside the words "Zack Synder" the prime damper on any enthusiasm for this movie is that horrible fucking costume. Superman is THE "bright & shiny" hero. If you don't want to do that, why the fuck are you doing superman!?! I stick by my description from a year ago that it looks like he rolled around in coal dust. Not to mention from a simple design standpoint the original costume was perfect. The red broke up the overwhelming blue.
