New Hercules Trailer Punches A Lion In Slow-Motion

Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

The first Hercules trailer for Dwayne Johnson's epic action flick looked alright, but the second trailer appears to be (slightly) more self-aware. Crackin' jokes, fighting slo-mo lions and hydras and mugging for the camera — this is the demigod we want.

The new trailer is all joke, joke, fancy lion hat. Which gives us hope, as we were fairly concerned that this movie might be taking itself too seriously. Clearly it's not, and that's a good thing. But it does make you feel kind of bad for Kellan Lutz.

Johnson's Hercules hits theaters in the height of hot summer, July 25th, 2014.

Are they making Hades the bad guy in a Greek mythology movie again? Look, I'm not some kind of ancient text purist (especially because ancient myths in general aren't known for having strong "canon"), but why must Hollywood constantly villify the least dickish deity in the Greek pantheon?
