Neil deGrasse Tyson Is Back to Ruin More Summer Flicks With His Constant Thinking

Neil deGrasse Tyson, aka that one guy in astronomy class who’s always going on about how no movies should have sound in space, is here to tell us that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 shouldn’t have sound in space. Yeah we know, Dad, we watched Firefly too.

Tyson appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to “review” some of the upcoming summer blockbusters, including Alien: Covenant and the second Guardians flick, the latter of which is currently in theaters. He had some choice words about Alien: Covenant, mainly how it wouldn’t make sense to send humans to a planet before robots. Though, to be fair, we didn’t care for it much either. Check out the video below, especially the part where Tyson gushes about Dwayne Johnson’s beefy arms.

NDT is such an arrogant killjoy. I can’t stand the man.

I tried for about 10 episodes to listen to his podcast Star Talk. I couldn’t handle it anymore. He’s so pedantic and hyperfocused on trivial nonsense. All. The. Time. Really? Sound in outer space is the nit you pick out of all the non-science in a comic-book movie?

It’s like when he complained about the stars not being correct in Titanic: I’m sure the millions of teenage girls who fawn over that movie are real interested in that minuscule flaw amongst all the rest of the hyperbolic nonsense that filled it to overflowing. The rest of us see it as the fluff movie that it really was and just don’t care.
