Michael Bay clarifies that just because his next Transformers movie will feature a whole new cast — and, according to some recent reports, some redesigned robots — this isn't a reboot:
It's not a reboot, that's maybe the wrong word. I don't want to say reboot because then people will think we're doing a Spider-Man and starting from the beginning. We're not. We're taking the story that you've seen - the story we've told in three movies already - and we're taking it in a new direction. But we're leaving those three as the history. It all still counts. I met with the writer before I went off to do ‘Pain and Gain' and we talked about a bunch of ideas. We let that simmer for a bit. He's been thinking about stuff and now we're getting back together next week to see what we've got and to see if it gels.
Could the new story involve a departure from Earth?
I think so, yeah, a little. That feels like the way to go, doesn't it? I want to go a little off but I don't want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That's what works in these movies, that's what makes it accessible.
However, any jaunts into space — and possibly all the way back to the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron — will have to be done without resorting to $200 million worth of special effects, as this fourth film will have a reduced budget compared to the third entry, Dark of the Moon. Bay says the budget will be reduced by about $30 million from the previous film's $195 million. [Hero Complex]
Here are some hi-res promo photos, including another spectacularly creepy look at the romance between Jacob and Renesmee, Bella and Edward's fast-aging half-vampire daughter.
With it pretty much confirmed that the fifth season is flashing forward to the Observer-dominated future of 2036, Anna Torv discusses the relationship between Olivia and her grown daughter Etta, as played by Georgina Haig:
"We've seen Olivia work through so many relationships in her life, I would love her not to have to work through this one with Etta. I would love for us to meet her and Etta having already done all of that and just be family, and have that trust all there already, which is what we kind of got with Olivia's sister [Rachel]. That was always so lovely, because it was the only time we saw Olivia settled."

Valentina Cervi discusses her character, the Authority vampire Salome:
She is the right hand of Roman at the beginning. She shares a very special intimacy with him, so they have a layered relationship. Every vampire has a different agenda in The Authority, and of course, we're all next to Roman, but the interesting thing is that everybody has his or her own way of thinking, and when the season goes on, you will find out where everybody stands, and who everybody stands next to. Of course there's a lot of Biblical and historical references because they have inspired Salome from the biblical Salome. She's been a victim since she was a kid. She was sold by her mother when she was a kid, so she has a lot of hate in her, and she brings that hate and that need of love with her in the season.
She also discusses her character's evolving feelings towards Bill and Eric:
There's an apparent reason and it is to bring them on her side. She wants people to be on her side, and she understands who people are. At the beginning, she can't really trust Eric. She knows Eric, she knows everything from his past, and she knows about Godric and Nora. With Bill, she feels that he is someone she can, in some way, manipulate more. At the same time, she respects Bill more because she sees his heart and she knows that he has a good heart. She's really intrigued by him. She will have feelings for both of them during the season. It's not that she wants something; she's a loving character, even if it doesn't seem like it. She's full of love and needs to be loved. It's complicated.
Does she actually have feelings for them or is she just using them?
Things will develop and will change in the course of the season. At the beginning she is just cool. She is just testing the ground with both of them. In [this Sunday's episode], she is real. What she says is real. Of course she has her agenda, but I think that deep inside, she really feels for Bill, and for Eric in a different way, because she can't trust him. Being a control freak as she is, she wants to know where everybody stands and she doesn't know if he could stand next to her.

"I'm newly married and I go with my wife on our honeymoon. I don't want to tell you too much and it and actually I should shut my mouth because [Ryan Murphy] will freak out, but it's gory…it sounds like so much fun and that's why I wanted to do it. I was like, this doesn't even sound like acting; this sounds, like, hysterical, funny, dark and cool and right up my alley."
