Bridesmaids and The Heat director Paul Feig teams up with actress Melissa McCarthy once again for the new espionage comedy Spy. McCarthy plays a CIA analyst who snags her first mission in the field. As it turns out, spying isn't easy — though it is pretty funny.
McCarthy plays Susan Cooper, a CIA analyst who works closely with top spy Bradley Fine (Jude Law). She's great at her job, but longs for a more exciting position. She gets it when Fine vanishes and the other field agents are compromised, making Susan the only person who can infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer. It also means running around with another field agent, Rick Ford (Jason Statham).
After is debut at SXSW, the early reviews for this movie have been very happy, and we're looking forward to watching McCarthy engage in more spy antics. (Hopefully she gets more fun costumes aside from the Cat Lady.) Plus, McCarthy and Statham look like a fantastic on-screen pair. Spy hits theaters on June 5th.
