Spread your wings and fly, pop-teen novel readers - the Maximum Ride novels are finally being turned into a movie. Which means you'll get the entire genetically engineered flying teens with wings posse (or "The Flock"). The novels have been picked up by Seaside Entertainment, and superhero movie makers Avi Arad, Ari Arad and Steven Paul will produce. The novels' author, James Patterson, will be executive producer. Click through for plot details. The children of The Flock were experimented on by scientists hoping to find a balance that was 98% human and 2% bird, thus giving them feathery wings and the ability to fly. After the gang rallies together to break out of their prison-like school, they find themselves being hunted down by the scientists' other creations, The Erasers. Those beings have a blend of wolf DNA and human DNA. Together the kids have to band together to save each other from being captured by the "whitecoats" again. The only thing that makes me hesitant about this movie is teens and wings = more kids running around with massive wings on convention floors hitting me in the face. I already have to fend off the "Free Hugs" army, we don't need to be adding more wings into the mix. But apart from that, I'm ready for more teen-sensation scifi.
