Manhattan TV Series Is Set In The City That Built The Atomic Bomb

Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

Half-period piece, half-science documentary (OK, probably a lot less science documentary), the series Manhattan takes place in Los Alamos, New Mexico, smack-dab in the middle of the Manhattan Project.

The WGN series is centered around the scientists and their families who move to this remote town and attempt to live out the American dream amidst a very secret, scientific project: constructing a gigantic weapon of mass destruction. Not sure sure how to feel about this series yet—it feels weird to set a melodrama around these people specifically. As much as I'm interested to see the distraught scientists piece the weapon together and deal with their guilt... I'm much more concerned about the victims of their creation.

Manhattan premiere is on Sunday, July 27th.

I don't know — there were plenty of... larger than life personalities and "you just couldn't make this shit up sober" stories around the Manhattan Project, but I don't know if they're the ones this show is interested in telling.
