Artemis Fowl

It’s unconfirmed right now, but there are reports that Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Cinderella) to direct the film adaptation of Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl. This could mean that the forever gestating film is finally moving forward. [The Tracking Board]


Bourne 5

Vincent Cassel is going to play the villain in the next Bourne film. No solid details, but rumor has him playing an assassin tracking Matt Damon’s Bourne. [Variety]


Wolverine 3

So, Liev Shreiber has apparently heard all the same rumors we have about the next standalone Wolverine film being based on the “Old Man Logan” plot. He brought it up on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, saying he hasn’t been asked to reprise his role but “I heard that the storyline is ‘Old Man Logan.’ And when I heard that, I thought, ‘Well, you know there’s Old Man Logan, there could be Old Man Sabretooth... the two of us with walkers.”

X-Men: Apocalypse

Start speculating: Stan Lee told Larry King that he filmed his cameo with another guest star whom he described as “very important” to him. He did say he couldn’t say who it was, for fear it would take over the news cycle. [via Comic Book Resources]


Wonder Woman

Meet the Movie Press says that Hoyte van Hoytema (Interstellar, Spectre) will be the Wonder Woman cinematographer, which might bring some much needed diversity to the look of the DC movies. [via Slashfilm]


Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Head to the link to see some images of the Elite Trooper from the Elite Speeder Bike and The Assault Walker toys. Box images show both versions of the Storm Troopers in a jungle-like area, just like a brief action sequence in the trailer. Maybe there’s a speeder bike chase around Maz Kanata’s castle? High Rise

Here are two new pictures from the movie adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s classic novel about a luxury apartment building which descends into violent tribalism when it divorces itself from the rest of the world.


Jack Reacher 2

The sequel will be released on October 21, 2016. [Slashfilm]

Luke Cage

It’s not a huge shock, but Deadline has confirmed that Rosario Dawson will reprise her Claire Temple role in Luke Cage. Deadline also reports that Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) has landed a regular role in the series, along with some anonymous sources saying that he’s playing the criminal enemy Shades. [Deadline]


We also have Simone Missick joining as the young female lead listed on the breakdown as “Missy,” a character who Deadline says is actually Misty Knight, a former NYPD officer who starts a detective agency and helps Cage out. We’ve sung the praises of Misty Knight before, so we’re looking forward to seeing her on screen. [Deadline]


The show has cast Glenn Morshower (24) as Gen. Sam Lane, who will, like his daughter Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum), be a recurring character throughout the first season. [The Hollywood Reporter]
